Aurora

Aurora Aksnes is born June 15 in 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and often stylized with highercase letters like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 and was praised by journalists as well as from the press. The singer has recorded two high-profile covers Half the World Away by Oasis. Oasis for a Christmas advertisement from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Her name was also recognized thanks to a Facebook post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Honor her day. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft, and becoming captivated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music not to get work or as a hobby, but rather as a way to improve. To achieve this she began to write songs that were her own creations. Her inspirations include famous writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan along with the style of Bjork. She began performing her songs publicly when her mother said they can help other people, not gain fame through the work she does, but to help people see around them realize their own importance and how they have an impact on the world. The piano was her first instrument when she was just six years old, then began writing music at age nine. It was not until she turned 14 that she revealed her plans to her parents. Aurora did not have a set goal. The singer claims that she is a fan of making music. According to her, music is her preferred method of feeling something.
